We don’t want to scare you too much, but these facts might give you a bit of a fright. In 2019 it was estimated that 56 billion coffee pods ended up in landfill. What is even more horrifying, is that these pods can take up to 500 years to break down. You can imagine if every household is using these non-biodegradable pods every day for a coffee, how many pods are going straight to landfill. We know that household coffee pod machines are on the rise too, with many families making their coffees at home during lockdowns.
